Orbit 3 - foldable towbar-mounted bike rack for 3 bikes: for those who don't leave anyone at home
Orbit 3 is Menabo's foldable towbar-mounted bike rack designed for those who transport 3 bikes in a single trip. It's the natural solution for families, sports groups, and anyone with variable load needs: three trail MTBs, two eBikes, and a child's bike (always check compatibility based on dimensions), or any other combination that exceeds the capacity of a 2-bike rack.
With a maximum load capacity of 70 kg on the high-strength steel frame and wheel tray, Orbit 3 easily handles even the most demanding combination: three modern eBikes, each weighing up to over 20 kg. The same system that makes the Orbit 2 reliable for two bikes is extended here to the third position without compromising structural rigidity.
Quick-release towbar attachment. The quick-release lever mounting system allows for installation in seconds, with adjustment using the included Allen key and a built-in anti-theft lock that secures the bike rack to the hitch during stops.
Foot-activated tilting. Even with three bikes loaded, the foot-activated tilting mechanism tilts the entire bike rack forward, allowing you to open the trunk of your car without having to remove any bikes, a feature that becomes indispensable in everyday practice when traveling in a group.
Foldable design. When not in use, the Orbit 3 folds into a compact size and can be stored in the trunk or garage. At 18 kg, it's still manageable on your own, weighing only 3.6 kg less than the Orbit 2 despite a 50% increase in capacity.
Universal compatibility. Like the Orbit 2, it supports wheels from 18" to 29" with a maximum width of 80 mm, compatible with fat bikes, and a maximum wheelbase of 1,310 mm. The adjustable frame holder is compatible with regular and irregular frame shapes, including low-rim frames and eBikes with integrated batteries. The anti-theft knob for the frame holder is available as a separate accessory.
Certifications. The Orbit 3 is TÜV GS certified and has passed the City Crash Test, the two reference certifications for towbar-mounted bike racks on the European market.

Can Orbit 3 carry three eBikes at the same time? What is the maximum load?
Yes, Orbit 3 is designed to carry 3 bicycles with a total maximum load of 70 kg. This capacity is sufficient for two medium-sized eBikes (around 25 kg each) plus one traditional bike, or for three traditional bikes even of larger sizes.
The wheel trays support wheels from 18" to 29" with widths up to 80 mm, compatible with fat bikes.
As with Orbit 2, the adjustable frame holder is compatible with frame diameters from 23 to 75 mm, including eBike frames with integrated batteries.
Orbit 3 weighs 18 kg: is it difficult to install and remove on your own?
18 kg is a manageable weight for an adult, but it should be considered before purchase.
For comparison, Orbit 2 weighs 14.4 kg: the 3.6 kg difference corresponds to the additional third bike position.
The quick lever mounting system greatly simplifies installation, requiring no prolonged lifting but only positioning on the tow bar and locking with an Allen key.
If you frequently mount and remove the rack on your own, you may consider whether Orbit 2 better suits your needs.
What is the difference between Orbit 3 and Orbit 2? When is it worth choosing Orbit 3?
Orbit 3 carries 3 bikes compared to 2 for Orbit 2; it weighs 18 kg versus 14.4 kg.
With the same structure, certifications, and safety systems, the choice depends entirely on your load requirements.
Orbit 3 is ideal for families with three cyclists, for those who transport both heavy eBikes and traditional bikes on the same trip, or for those who want extra capacity without leaving a bike behind.
If you regularly carry only 2 bikes, Orbit 2 offers the same quality at lower weight and cost.
Can I still open the trunk with Orbit 3 loaded?
Yes. The pedal tilt system works even with three bikes loaded: by pressing the pedal, the entire structure tilts forward, allowing full access to the trunk without removing any bikes.
This is one of the main operational advantages compared to strap-mounted bike racks, which require unloading the bikes to access luggage.
The mechanism is the same as Orbit 2 and is designed to handle the additional weight.
Is Orbit 3 certified? Does the certification include eBike transport?
Yes. Orbit 3 is TÜV GS certified and has passed the City Crash Test, and both certifications cover the product under standard usage conditions declared by the manufacturer, including eBike transport within the 70 kg load limit.
The TÜV GS certification ensures the product has been tested and verified by an independent third party for safety and compliance.
The product also includes a CE conformity certificate, as required by current regulations.
